Next week we’ll be coaching Chija Bauer. I’ve sent emails to those who have participated in coaching before with directions on how to view her video and how to give some feedback on particular questions she has before we meet. If you’d like to participate but haven’t received that email, please email me (andy.rundquist@gmail.com) and I’ll send you the information. Thanks! -Andy
Tonight Brendan and Paul help facilitate a conversation about “flipping a class,” concentrating on video resources posted for students to view before coming to class. We talked about logistics, student responses, and many other issues.
Next week we’ll be doing more coaching with Chija Bauer.
Last night we talked with Peter about the videos he has created that allow students to make measurements of physical events. He puts various scales on the videos to facilitate measurements, and we compared and contrasted this approach to using something like Vernier Logger Pro or Tracker.
Next week we’ll talk with Brendan Noon and others about the Flipped Classroom approach for physics teaching. Join us!
Last night we talked about teaching with phasors. We focussed a lot on complex numbers and Argand diagrams and looked at examples from both AC circuits and diffraction. We also heard why cosine sucks.
Next week we’re talking with Peter Bohacek about using video problems with physics students.
Hi everyone,
This week we’ll talk about how to teach phasors (including electronics, complex numbers, waves, etc) so bring your ideas.
We’ll also talk about changes we want to see for our meetings. One thing we’ll talk about is the logistics of the coaching we’ve done.
